What is the cultural expenditure report?

In 2021, the Kulturamt started publishing a new, comprehensive cultural report for the City of Innsbruck. It covers not only the funding provided by the Department of Culture, but also all other cultural expenditure of the City of Innsbruck:

• the financing of municipal cultural enterprises with personnel and operating costs
• Purchases and maintenance of cultural assets
• own cultural events

The basis is the financial statement of the City of Innsbruck.

What system is used to compile the cultural expenditure report?

With the Länder Initiative for Cultural Statistics (LIKUS), the federal states and the federal government adopted a definition framework for cultural statistics in 1997. This is based on UNESCO's international definition of cultural statistics. It is independent of the differences in federal administrative structures and comprises eleven sector-related and five cross-sector categories. By consistently applying this framework, it is possible to compare the cultural expenditures of municipalities, states and the federal government.
