Smart City has been in place in the city of Innsbruck since 2020. The aim is to conserve resources and improve the quality of life at the same time. As its main task, Smart City networks the administration and attracts funding in the areas of energy, mobility, housing, climate change, the environment and digitalization.
The Smart City Group was set up for this purpose. It meets regularly to exchange ideas and seek solutions for the future challenges facing the city of Innsbruck. The following offices, departments and municipal companies take part in the Smart City Group:

- City Department Climate-neutral city
- Service Unit Citizen participation and participatory urban design
