Social services for young people in Innsbruck 1970-1990
29,90 €
Between 1970 and 1990, social services for young people in Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, underwent fundamental change and differentiation. Parallel to the slow departure from large homes, a mostly young generation in the field of social work and related professions developed projects that derived from the deficits experienced in daily work with young people. Many of the services developed in these years are still influential in the social landscape today. These include the Z6 Youth Center, DOWAS, Ho & Ruck and Jugendland. During the period under study, youth welfare also underwent a reorientation, women's facilities and probation services became established, and new forms of Droconsumption required adequate social work and therapeutic approaches. The study by Andrea Sommerauer and Hannes Schlosser traces the history of the emergence of dozens of institutions, embeds them in the framework conditions of the individual fields of work and analyzes the partly supportive, partly inhibiting role of politics and administration during this period of awakening. The history of umbrella organizations and working groups is also told, in line with the self-image of the founding generations to get involved politically and to network with other institutions. |
