CatchBasinBrassBand (CBBB)

Direction: Georg Pranger BA M. Mus.

From 2009 until summer 2023, Prof. Andreas Lackner conducted the CatchBasinBrassBand (CBBB). Starting in the school year 2023/2024, Georg Pranger BA M. Mus. will take over the conducting of this successful ensemble. It offers all advanced brass and percussion players of the music school the opportunity to make music together. The ensemble performs demanding concert literature.

Successes

In their numerous concerts at home and abroad, the young musicians have impressed the audience with excellent performances.dru

The ensemble has also celebrated fine successes at renowned competitions:

• in 2018, it performed at the European Championship of the European Brass Band Association in Utrecht (Holland) and was runner-up.
• in 2019, the CatchBasinBrassBand represented Austria at the European Championship of the European Brass Band Association in Montreux (Switzerland). With 99 out of 100 possible points, the formation brought the European Championship title to Innsbruck.
• 2022 the CatchBasinBrassBand scored 98 out of 100 possible points at the European Championship of the European Brass Band Association in Birmingham (United Kingdom) and was crowned European Champion for the second time.
• in 2023, the CatchBasinBrassBand became European Champion for the dritth time with 97 out of 100 possible points in Malmö (Sweden) under the direction of Prof. Andreas Lackner!
