The mayor is the head of Innsbruck's city administration and is chairman of the municipal council and city senate. He is appointed to manage the entire city administration and represents the city of Innsbruck in all external matters. In addition to matters within his own sphere of influence, the mayor is also responsible for all tasks within the city's delegated sphere of influence. As mayor of a statutory city, he is also responsible for the district administrative authority.
